Lettuce is sort of the hero of Astra Superstars. He seems a little arrogant, but very determined.
Unfortunately, I know very little about any of the characters of Astra Superstars due to the fact that I cannot read Japanese. However, I can safely say that this is the best "hero" I've seen in any of these game. Let's recap…
Rolf- Arrogant, wears a suit that does all his work for him, looks pretty darn stupid
(I should point out that when I say Arrogant, I mean ARROGANT.)
Rai- Stupid, dumb looking, stupid, stupid, randomly has a super jumping ability, did I mention he's stupid
Rolf and Rai have always annoyed me because they were really stupid characters. Mind you, most "heros" are pretty stupid in my opinion. Lettuce doesn't break any new ground, but he isn't as stupid (although judging from his facial expressions, he's probably as arrogant as Rolf), plus HE'S GOT STYLE! And not just any style…LUTECIAN STYLE!
Okay, so I'm exaggerating a bit, but it always seemed to me that Lettuce might have taken a trip to planet Lutecia to train, and he seemed to really like the gloves there, so he bought a pair! Sure, I made all that up, but it's sorta beliveable with his stretchy doom fist attack shown here. He's got puffy shoes too, and ya gotta love that hair! Overall, I consider him one of the first heroes of a fighting game that I'm not embarassed to play as.
Lettuce is what I would call an average fighter type of character. His normal attacks have little to no magic in them and are mostly just close range punches and kicks. The most unusual thing he can do there is his streatchy fist attack. He's not really that great with combos, however his streatchy fist knocks the opponent up rather than away, preventing them from rebounding off a wall. His 'Z' button flaming fist attack, however, WILL knock your opponent twords a wall allowing them to do a rebound attack. Be careful of that!
This is one of his supers, Pressure Spark. Or at least that's what I assume he's saying. It actually sounds more like "Treasure Strike" or "Pleasure Shark". Anyway, he shoots one big electro projectile at you that hits multiple times. A decent super, nothing too special.
THIS is my kind of super. I can't tell what it's called, but he screams "BooyayayayayayayayaBOOYAH!" It reminds me of one of Jotaro's supers from JoJo's Bizzare Adventure. This move does some decent damage, but it looks neat and really racks up the hits in a combo.
